The weeks are just flying by!  Next week we will be sending home parent teacher conference times.  If you are unable to attend please email or call with a time in mind that works best for you. 

Also this coming week is spirit week.  Monday will be inside out and backwards day, Tuesday is hat day, Wednesday pajama day (all the kids' favorite), and on Thursday is black and gold day to support our Cowboys for homecoming.

Besides dressing up and getting pumped up for homecoming, we will be wrapping up our unit on multiplication and division.  Please continue to practice 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 with your kids.  If they are rock'n these numbers move on to 6, 7, 8, and 9's.  In reading and writing we will work on narratives, fact and opinions, and summaries.  For science and social studies we will look at light, the colors of light, and making brochures of our community. 

As a third grade team we have decided to do homework a bit differently.  Instead of a math homework every night we are going send home math games that they can play to help reinforce the skills that we are working on in the classroom.  Next weeks homework will be a game called circle and stars.  I will send home the directions and dice templates that you can make at home if you do not have dice.  The kids will know how to play the game and can teach you.
